Dear Friends,
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity for the first annual "Be The Change You Wish To See In The World" Fundraiser benefiting The Pink Ribbon Yoga Beach Retreat. I am thrilled to inform you that we have reached our goal and raised $1,000. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the beach retreat, which will be held August 6-9, 2009. The beach retreat is a weekend filled with Yoga, creative therapies, healing, and bonding with other survivors.
Thanks to all of you, these amazing women will be able to truly find a safe place to heal their hearts and spirits together and be filled with hope, unconditional love and acceptance, which they in turn will take back into their daily lives.
You are all a remarkable example that when we step outside of ourselves and our daily lives to help others, each one of us can make a tremendous difference in the world. When we stand together, we become Warriors of Hope. Those benefited from your generosity, will in turn pay it forward and help more people, so it will become an endless journey of compassion and love, making this world a better place.
I would like to thank our wonderful sponsors: Susan Simon at Harmony Pilates, Integrative Movement & Yoga, Erica Haase at EnV Salon Color Bar, both located in Apex and Lynn Laaper at Blissful Lounge in Holly Springs for helping market this event and for their unconditional generosity and support. I would also like to thank Nancy Hannah for being "the body" at our fundraising class and for all of her support and encouragement, Kim Bell for planting the seed for this and for her infectious enthusiasm, Kelly Keller and Jean Costa for being shining examples of helping those who have walked in the shoes they once wore, and everyone else who sent this out to their mailing lists. Most importantly, I'd like to thank my Mom, Pat Abrams, for her strength and courage and for being a constant inspiration to me and all who know her and my to beautiful daughter Abby, who makes me want to be a better person.
We plan on making this a yearly event beginning in April. Our goal for next year is to raise more and to celebrate and benefit not only Pink Ribbon Yoga, but Pretty In Pink Foundation in Raleigh as well. Together, we can help women in need financially and emotionally, as our medical community works on finding a cure for this terrible disease.
Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your generosity. On August 6th, please raise a toast to yourselves and know that you have made a difference in not one life, but 35.
With tremendous love and gratitude,
Namaste~
Erin
